The convention will take place from October 2–3, 2024, at the National ICT Innovation Hub in Kampala, Uganda. Delegates expected to attend include youth, government officials, development partners, experts, policymakers, entrepreneurs, academicians, and more.

What is AfCFTA?
The African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) is a significant initiative aimed at boosting intra-African trade and economic integration. It seeks to create a single market for goods and services, reduce tariffs, and eliminate non-tariff barriers. AfCFTA is expected to contribute to economic growth, job creation, and poverty reduction across Africa.
The AfCFTA Agreement was signed in 2018 and entered into force in 2019. It includes protocols on trade in goods, servs, investment, intellectual property, and dispute settlement. The AfCFTA Secretariat is responsible for coordinating and implementing the agreement.
AfCFTA is expected to have a significant impact on Africa’s economic development. It could increase intra-African trade by up to $350 billion by 2035, create millions of jobs, and reduce poverty. However, its success will depend on the effective implementation of the agreement.
