Meet the CEO of Be The Voice Foundation… In 2023, we saw her crowned Miss Gorgeous International and Miss Gorgeous Uganda for the 2023 Mister and Miss Gorgeous International pageant. Patience Wawina isn’t just basking in the glory of titles. Instead, she’s using her platform to inspire a new generation, breaking down barriers, and leaving an indelible mark on communities worldwide.

What is Be The Voice?
Wawina’s brainchild, the “Be the Voice” Foundation, is more than a beauty-centric endeavor. It’s a global initiative focused on developing young models, fostering confidence, and bringing empowerment to communities across the globe. Wawina explains, “It’s about more than just appearances; it’s about creating a positive force for change.”
This Festive season of 2023, she went on and discovered talents in the ghettos that say Modeling, Dancing, and singing. She went on to train young people in Port Bell with the help of HOLISTIC ACTION FOR DEVELOPMENT AND EMPOWERMENT (HADE) for the Christmas party celebration. This included a runway where models showcased creative wear using recycled materials i.e. plastic bags, socks, and papers. They also showcased BE THE VOICE FOUNDATION T-shirts, jewelry, and body painting.
They also performed and danced to different songs of their choice, and they shared a cake with the community, and Santa gave out gifts to the community.
The 2023 Miss Gorgeous International Uganda’s BE THE VOICE FOUNDATION has not only launched nationwide, but since August 28, it has collected 200 toys, 1000 dollars, and clothes. The goal is to cheer up thousands of children in poor communities.
Miss Wawina and HOLISTIC ACTION FOR DEVELOPMENT AND EMPOWERMENT worked hard to provide a happy holiday experience for the children and families in Port Bell Luzira.
How did the CEO celebrate her birthday?
Celebrating her birthday at Mama Teresa Orphanage Home Namasuba, Wawina and her team launched the foundation with a heartwarming celebration. “We collected toys, money, and clothes to bring a touch of joy to the lives of orphaned children. It’s about making a difference where it matters most,” she emphasizes.
What happened at Be The Voice this Christmas?
This festive season, Wawina took a detour from the glamorous path and delved into the ghettos. Collaborating with Holistic Action for Development and Empowerment (HADE), they unearthed talents in modeling, dancing, and singing. “It’s not just about giving opportunities; it’s about unlocking potential in unexpected places,” she notes.
At a Christmas party celebration in Portbell Luzira, the youth, trained with the help of HADE, took the spotlight. Recycled materials turned into runway-worthy outfits, showcasing sustainability and creativity. “Our foundation isn’t just making a statement; it’s creating a canvas for the voices of the youth to be heard,” Wawina states.

The pinnacle of their efforts materialized in Portbell Luzira, where a joyous holiday experience unfolded. Performances, dances, and shared moments, including a cake-cutting ceremony and gift distribution by Santa, created lasting memories. “It’s about bringing joy to the communities that need it most,” Wawina says with a smile.
