Last night’s game between Brighton and Crystal palace almost became a misfortune for the hosts as they snatched a late equalizer with 3 minutes left to play, this was after Maupay’s low cross was inadvertently turned into his own net by Andersen. Brighton played well all through the first half with Leandro Trossard being denied by Butland Palace’s keeper through a clear cut chance, he later showed more intent in the 38th minute by saving Pascal Gross’ penalty. Crystal palace hit on the break and Schlupp’s cut back was turned into the net by Gallagher who has proved to be palace’s answer this season. Butland had quite an excellent game by denying most of Brighton’s attempts to his goal on addition to the penalty save. Danny Welbeck had the last chance of the game but couldn’t quite control his header towards goal, each team took a point with Brighton moving up a spot to eight while Palace remain 11th.

Today League leaders City host the blues at the Etihad, the two teams having met earlier this season with Man city winning by a goal in a match which seemed to be revenge on Chelsea who had beat the Citizens in the Champions League final. It’s a good game to watch for the neutrals though it has no big impact on the table standings as City are already 10 points clear second place Chelsea, but who knows!
Most football fans are eagerly awaiting the return of Philippe Coutinho who is on loan at Aston villa from Barcelona, the once Liverpool magician reunited with former teammate and now Villa boss Steven Gerard this January, Villa host Ronald’s Manchester United who seem to be fighting for form of late.
