Singer Edrisah Musuza aka Eddy Kenzo has been nominated in the Grammy 2023 Awards under the ‘Best Global Music Performance’ category. Kenzo becomes the first Ugandan artiste to get a nomination at the prestigious awards.
Who is Eddy Kenzo?
The music superstar was born on 25th December 1989 in Masaka, Uganda. He has had several nominations since his active carrier in music from 2008 under his music label Big Talent. Kenzo has a rich Award Nomination story since he has ever won the BET Awards in 2015, Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Awards in 2018, and All Best African Music Awards and now has been nominated in the Grammy Awards 2023.
He was nominated for his feature on Matt B’s song “Gimme Love.” Matt B is an Australian hiphop rapper that trended second to Udhero Na by Arooj Aftab ft Anoushka Shankar the Nigerian singers.
When was he nominated for Grammy Awards?
The Big Talent boss got the exciting news just days after his massive show at Kololo Airstrip in Kampala, the show was massive following the high turnout of both fans and fellow artists from regional, national and International levels.

Who else was at the show?
The show had prominent people like the Prime Minister of Uganda Hon. Robinah Nabbanja who allowed the show to continue until 3am, the news on stage was unexpected by both Kenzo and his Fans. However the show had several artists like Bebe Cool, Dr Jose Chameleon, Nina roz, Martha Mukisa amongst many others.
It also had other East African artists like Bahati from Kenya and Harmonize the Konde Gang from Tanzania and very many others.
That makes Eddy Kenzo the first Ugandan and East African artist to be nominated for Grammy Awards.
