French President Emmanuel Macron welcomed several European leaders on Monday for important talks about the ongoing war in Ukraine. This meeting comes as the United States changes its approach to the conflict, with some U.S. officials suggesting that Europe might not have a role in future peace talks.
Who Is Expected To Attend the Meeting?
The leaders of Britain, Denmark, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, and Spain are all expected to attend. Key European figures such as NATO chief Mark Rutte, European Council President Antonio Costa, and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will also join the discussions for the Ukraine Crisis.
Europe Pledges Continued Support for Ukraine
In recent days, European leaders have reaffirmed their commitment to helping Ukraine. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer even stated that his government was prepared to send troops to Ukraine as part of a future peacekeeping mission. All European leaders are deeply concerned about the impact of the Ukraine crisis.

“I do not say that lightly,” Starmer wrote in the Daily Telegraph on Sunday. “I feel very deeply the responsibility that comes with potentially putting British servicemen and women in harm’s way.
