When was Google Bard rebranded?
Since its launch last year, Gemini AI (formerly Bard AI) has revolutionized the way people interact with AI. This happened on 8th February 2024 accompanied by the release of a new mobile app and Gemini Advanced with Ultra 1.0.

Spearheading this transformative journey is Sissie Hsiao, Vice President and General Manager of Gemini experiences (formerly known as Bard) and Google Assistant. Hsiao expressed enthusiasm about the transition. She also expressed her team’s commitment to providing direct access to advanced AI models.

What is the Google Gemini?
Launched on 8th February 2024, introduces Ultra 1.0, this is the most capable AI model to date. In rigorous evaluations conducted by third-party raters, Gemini Advanced with Ultra 1.0 emerged as the preferred chatbot among leading alternatives. According to Google, its capabilities extend to complex tasks such as coding, logical reasoning, and creative collaboration. With an enhanced understanding of contextual prompts, the Google ChatGPT serves as a versatile tool:
- Personal Tutor: Crafting tailored learning materials and facilitating interactive learning sessions.
- Coding Companion: Assisting with advanced coding scenarios and evaluating different approaches.
- Creative Partner: Generating content, analyzing trends, and refining creative concepts for digital creators.
Pricing and Accessibility
Gemini Advanced debuts as part of the Google One AI Premium Plan. It is priced at $19.99/month, with a two-month trial period. Subscribers gain access to the latest AI advancements. This comes alongside existing Google One Premium benefits, including 2TB of storage. It’s also integrated into Gmail, Docs, Slides, Sheets, and more, under the new moniker “Duet AI.” This is expected to enhance productivity across various Google platforms.



Ensuring Safety
According to Google, safety remains paramount in Gemini’s development. This comes with rigorous trust and safety checks conducted prior to its launch. Measures to address concerns such as unsafe content and bias include external red-teaming and continuous model refinement based on human feedback. This was outlined in the updated Google AI Technical Report.
Will It have Mobile Integration?
In response to user feedback, Gemini now offers a streamlined mobile experience, available on Android and iOS devices. The new app facilitates seamless interaction with Gemini, enabling users to engage via text, voice, or images. This mobile integration marks a significant step towards realizing the vision of a conversational, multimodal AI assistant.
- Android Integration: The Gemini app utilizes generative AI to collaborate with users. This offers contextual assistance and overlay experiences. Voice features familiar to Google Assistant users, such as setting timers and controlling smart home devices, are also accessible through the Gemini app.
- iOS Integration: Access to the service will be integrated directly into the Google app in the coming weeks, providing users with a similar range of capabilities.
When will Global Google Rebrand Rollout Happen?
Gemini’s begins in the U.S. in English, with plans for expansion to additional languages and regions in the near future. User feedback will continue to inform ongoing enhancements, ensuring an optimal experience for all Gemini users.
