Message from Party President Robert Kyagulanyi (Bobi Wine)
You have already received the terrible news that we have lost Hon. Ssegirinya Muhammad. He has been, and will always remain, a comrade. We are all aware of the circumstances that led to his chronic illness and final days. He endured unjustified imprisonment and torture. Ssegirinya often complained about his health, but many used to take it for a joke until they can’t take it for a joke, no more. It is very sad that we have lost Hon. Ssegirinya Muhammad. We extend our condolences to his family.
The tentative program is as follows: This evening, beginning at 4:00 p.m., a vigil will be held at the National Unity Platform headquarters. We shall spend the night there with our brother. Tomorrow Friday 10th January 2025, Hon. Ssegirinya Muhammad will be honored in the Parliament of Uganda. In the afternoon, we will proceed with prayers for him at Mbogo Mosque, after which his body will be taken to his home. The burial will take place on Sunday 12th January 2025 in Masaka, as requested by his family.
We understand that Muhammad was a devoted Muslim, and we respect the Islamic faith. However, his family has requested the religious leaders to allow his relatives, brothers, and sisters to bury him on Sunday.
