We got in contact with Keko one of Uganda’s finest, she became more famous after her hit song How we Do It. It was later remixed by the Goodlyf Crew Radio and Weasle ft Keko. The tune went an extra mile around the globe. However here is what you need to know about this exciting and determined female artist.

Who is Keko?

Keko is a rapper musician and filmmaker from Uganda based in Toronto,Ontario Canada. Who loves art and has a passion for charities. She was born on the 3rd of June which is a public holiday in Uganda. However she says her culture is global and she doesn’t have a particular one. The rapper says she has so many colleagues in the industry. Some of those she grew up with and shared the same school most are now parents.

Unfortunately both her parents deceased from Uganda and Kenya, so apparently she is a servaving Orphan.

How is Keko’s Backdrop?

Her background is broadcasting, she interned at the new vision in her university days at vision voice and now XFM, it’s from there she got the passion to start music and went a full-blown rapper. Besides all, She comes from a humble background and her family is her backbone. Keko got where she is through hard work and dreaming big, and all this by her going for what she wants no matter how hard it may be.

Who inspired Her passion for music?

Keko’s passion for storytelling was inspired by her life challenges and what she experienced and saw while growing up. The singer drew her inspiration from everything she sees and feels around her.

The hip-hop singer says she is in Toronto,Canada. She went to a film school and now has a film production diploma from Toronto film school, which makes her now a qualified film producer.

When we got deep into a conversation with Keko about her hobbies, she said listening to music, watching films, and playing basketball is what she loves doing at her free hours. It’s fun and more entertaining than any other games, the rapper says.

What she loves most about herself is that she is spontaneous and just her ability to go for what she wants no matter the cost.

Did you know that the singer has the biggest achievement?

The singer says he still hopes a lot in on her way to achieving, however, she says so far her biggest achievements are; Winning the Channel O award Singing at Sony in 2010 and performing at the Big Brother finale in Johannesburg South Africa in 2012.

Keko says she has never stopped doing music and it’s her first love. Those who have been asking for her whereabouts is that she is currently living in Toronto, Canada for years now. When we asked her how it feels being in Canada. she had to say this, “It feels great, I love change and new experiences. Though I am getting know that I miss Uganda but I love it here”, she said. The Love for her country and motherland Uganda has never fade of her mind. Keko said will soon return home with new styles to disturb your airwaves.

Advice from the star rapper to the young generation

Keko’s advice to youths after narrating her journey throughout music is to follow your dreams and work hard. Never take NO for an answer. Whatever you see you can do it, go for it because basically even the sky is not the limit. Just determine, focus and stick to your lane, you will be there.
