In a live video clip shared across her social media handles, Naira Ali announced that she’s going to release new music. She mentioned that the album will be dropping on the 18th of March 2024. We got in touch with the soul artist and asked her about what is really cooking. Naira Ali was glad to talk to us and it looks like she’ll be breaking the internet soon. Read to the end to find out why she left Uganda.
Why has Naira Ali come back to the Ugandan music industry?
I have not just decided to come back, because I never left in the first place. I’ve been doing my music at my own pace and time. It’s just that everything is back to normal now in Uganda, and the industry itself is back as well.
Do you have plans to relocate to Uganda and why are you in the USA?
Of course, Uganda is home. I will always be back no matter what, but not right now (maybe ndiida mu Uganda empya). I’m in the USA because I relocated here permanently and now live here for many reasons (that will be a story for another day).
Tell us about other activities you have been doing off the stage
Well, I have been doing a lot of working (making money). I’ve been traveling a lot, eating a lot, and simply living life.
4. Why did you refrain from the involvement of most Ugandan musicians into politics?
I hate politics.

How many songs are on the Love EP?
What’s new in store is I am going to be dropping a 7 Track EP/Album on the 18th of March 2024. It’s been a while since I released an album, and I thought this would be the right time. It’s the most beautiful Ugandan music you are going to listen to, and I can’t wait.
What does Love EP album sound like?
I think the Album sounds like nothing you’ve ever heard before, even from me. It’s a real definition of good soulful African music, a mix of different genres and feels. It’s the kind of music that will last and live on for years. It takes you away from the current trendy bubblegum music on the market today. If you’re a sucker for real good music like me, you are going to love this Album.
What collaborations do we expect?
I have collaborated with two of the most talented male artists on the EP, Ykee Benda and Spyda MC.
9. What inspired you to make this Love EP?
I was inspired by love, always. That’s why the album title is actually Love. My love for love, life, and everything in between. This is the kind of music I’ve always wanted to do. Some of the songs on the album I sang like seven years ago, and I’ve kept them for the right moment. I think this is it. The Album was produced both here in the USA and in Uganda.
10. Who are the people and brands you have worked on in the new album?
We’ve worked with the best of the best both here and in Uganda, straight out of Hollywood with Ryan Pate, renowned famous celebrity producer, to Uganda’s magical Bass Boi, Ricko, Jacob Beats, to mention but a few. We have worked with many different studios, songwriters, backup vocalists, instrumentalists, sound masters, and mixers. And above all, Purplechord Studios. You can preorder the Album on the 15th of March if you like. Follow me on all my social media platforms Naira Ali Official.
