We finally had a chance to come Up Close and meet Okori Brian, the EASYO chairperson. If you don’t know who, we are talking about, this article will help you understand who this young politician is.
Who is Okori Brian?
Born on 1st April 1999, Okori Brian aka Emoji Guy is a passionate politically oriented young man. He oozes excellent strategic communication and administrative skills. He stands by the objective of bringing success to the organizations he works with by building beneficial links. You may be intrigued to meet Okori Brian by the end of this article.
Background And Other Activities
Okori is a Langi from Northern Uganda and intends to run as an MP for the region. He began having an interest in leadership in high school as a prefect. However, you may not know that Okori Brian is also an Emcee. So, we asked him why he seemed to have abandoned the profession since he joined politics.
“Emceeing has always been my passion and that is where I got the name MC Brato Ug. I started emceeing at 16yrs and I still do it now. The only difference is that I have very tight schedules on my case.” responded Brian, “I have hosted & organized a lot of Concerts and Events under my events company, Gigniuz Music and Events. I only paused organizing events during the COVID-19 break. However, I am still a participant in other activities like Events Management and Events Planning. So, you’re wrong, I still involve myself in them and I never really stopped at any point!”
As if that’s not enough, Brian has done an amazing job advocating for youth and students. This is mainly because he has experience in policy formulation, policy analysis, conflict resolution, negotiation, and mediation. At a young age (by the date of publication of this article) Okori has acquired a good understanding of governance and democratic processes. This has been possible through several programs he has actively participated in.
Where Did Okori Brian Acquire His Education?
The energetic lad attended Kyambogo University in 2021 to attain a Bachelor’s in Procurement & Logistics. From 2018 to 2020, Brian attended Uganda Technical College Elgon and achieved a National Diploma in Civil Engineering. For his high school education, the smart young politician went to Rock High School (2011-2014) and attained the Uganda Certificate of Education. He returned to the same school and pursued a Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education between 2014 and 2016.
Biggest Achievements | Meet Okori Brian
“Biggest leadership Position,” says Okori Brian, “is becoming Vice President of the East African Students and Youth Organization.” As we finalized, Mr. Okori told us some interesting statements. “Something people don’t know about me is that I am a Go-getter, fast mover, and robust in my operations!” It’s up to you what you use this information for, but it could mean that he does more action than talk. Brian advises young people about their lifestyle to be authentic. He says that young people should not fake life and that there are many opportunities to be honest.
