Who is MC Galaxy Mfalme?
Felix Feni, better known by his stage name MC Galaxy Mfalme, was born in Mubuku, Kasese District. He is the son of Mr. Daniel Okuvuva and Mrs. Margaret Maliko, and grew up in a family of four siblings—three boys and one girl. His upbringing was shaped by a love for football and music, two passions that would later define his journey as a professional MC.
How did MC Galaxy Mfalme choose to become an Emcee?
Growing up, Felix was deeply passionate about sports and the arts. “I felt at one point I would make the nation’s flag raised for the gift God has given me,” he says. However, at a certain point, he chose to drop football to concentrate on his studies and later embraced Music, Dance, and Drama (MDD) while in school. It was during these school days that he discovered a natural talent for entertaining crowds, merging his love for music with an infectious ability to engage audiences.
Which was the toughest time in his life?
Despite his burgeoning talent, life wasn’t always easy. “The toughest time of my life came when I had to make the transition from football to fully embracing my talents in the arts,” MC Galaxy Mfalme told Kampala Edge Times. But his resilience paid off, and soon Galaxy was performing on some of the biggest stages in Uganda. “The biggest achievement of my career so far has been graduating from Purple Skills Klinic in Radio and TV Presentation, and performing on major platforms like Purple Party, WaY High School Musical, and Burudika Na East FM.”
Over time, MC Galaxy has built a reputation that continues to grow. He credits much of his success to the inspirations he’s drawn from Uganda’s top entertainment personalities. “MC Kats has always been my first inspiration, his urban MC vibe and calmness in the MC game are something I look up to.” Along the way, MC Galaxy has worked alongside other giants in the industry like MC Kacheche in Mbarara, Lil Ollo, and Dagy Nyce.
Where did MC Galaxy Mfalme attain his education?
His educational background is just as impressive. He started his schooling at King Jesus Junior School in Kasese before sitting for his P7 in Tororo. He later joined Mama Kevina School in Tororo for high school and pursued an electrical course at Benedictine Vocational and Production Center. In 2023, he went on to Purple Skills Klinic to study public speaking and Radio and TV presentation, further honing his skills as an entertainer and public figure.
What matters to him now?
Currently, MC Galaxy is focusing on building his brand and raising the Ugandan flag high through his work. “I am working on topping the flag of Uganda as one of the top MCs of the nation from the East, which is why I have the slogan ‘Made From The East.’ It defines my brand and will be the name for my maiden concerts in years to come,” he explains.
One of the highlights of his career has been working with media legend Douglas Lwanga. “I always dreamt of meeting Douglas Lwanga because of his uniqueness and branding. He was one of those media personalities I looked up to from Record TV to NBS TV.” That dream came true when MC Galaxy joined Purple Skills Klinic and had Douglas as one of his mentors. The two first met at a Purple Party event, where MC Galaxy was working as the Grounds Manager of the Josh Trendz Music Label.
Over the years, MC Galaxy has shared the stage with numerous celebrated artists, including King Saha, Pallaso, Azawi, Eddy Kenzo, and Sheebah, to name a few. His list of collaborators is as impressive as it is varied, further cementing his place in the vibrant Ugandan entertainment scene.
