When will UCE Results be released?
The anticipation is finally ending—the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has announced that the Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) results for 2024 will be released this February 2025. While the specific date remains undisclosed, UNEB officials have confirmed that the exercise will occur within this Valentine’s Day week. UNEB took to X this Monday morning and announced that the wait is finally over.
UPDATE: UNEB has officially announced that the 2024 UCE Results will be released tomorrow, 11th February 2025. This comes after so much anticipation from students countrywide since January. We wish the students abundant success!
Valentine’s Day Gifts and UCE Results
The timing couldn’t be more interesting. With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, students and their families are bracing for a week filled with mixed emotions—love letters and examination results both making grand entrances. It’s almost as if UNEB believes the only dates teens should be focused on this February are the ones marked on the UCE results sheet!
Social media is already buzzing with jokes about how UNEB seems determined to compete with Cupid. “Imagine getting your results and a love confession on the same day. Pure emotional whiplash!” one user quipped.

Did the 2024 UCE Results get graded per the New Lower Secondary Curriculum (NLSC)?
This year’s UCE results mark a historic milestone for UNEB. For the first time, examinations were conducted under the New Lower Secondary Curriculum (NLSC). Jennifer Kalule, UNEB’s Principal Public Relations Officer, described it as a “unique year in UNEB’s history” since they handled two sets of exams simultaneously.
The numbers paint an impressive picture. A total of 379,748 candidates sat for the exams—369,601 under the new curriculum and 10,147 taking the transitional examination under the old curriculum. The logistical and administrative feat of managing these parallel examinations underscores UNEB’s adaptability in the evolving education landscape.
As students eagerly await their results, it’s clear that February 2025 will be a month to remember. Whether it’s heart-shaped chocolates or heartfelt exam results, one thing’s for sure—this Valentine’s season will be one for the books.
