Van Data is a Ugandan Reggae-Dancehall Singer, Songwriter, and Producer. He is popularly known for his songs like “Oli muyaye,” “China,” and many more. Born Ainebyona Isaiah on November 17 in Kampala, Uganda, in a family of three (2 girls and one boy), being the last born, Van Data is the only boy in the family. He grew up in Kampala and Mbarara, Uganda, where his mother worked as a medical sister. Isaiah was baptized “Van Data,” meaning Son of Knowing, by his childhood family and friends.
Van Data’s tale to success
Van Data began his music career at the age of 9 in TP and ME (Talent Promotion and Moral Excellence) Band. It was in this band that he learned to play several music instruments, including the piano keyboard, guitar, and jazz drums, to mention a few. Later, he joined Ma’Africa Band and then Rays Band, where he served as the main keyboardist. In 2008, he teamed up with his childhood friend Moze Dash to form a duo called “Dash and Data,” and together, they worked on several songs until he eventually decided to pursue a solo career.
In addition to his involvement in music and entertainment over the last 15 years, Van Data has also collaborated with various organizations, primarily focusing on youth and reproductive health. His roles have included working as a peer educator, counselor, HIV/AIDS counselor, trainer, implementing project activities, developing and executing youth programs, organizing and leading community dialogues, as well as creating Information Education Communication (IEC) materials, including Music Dance and Drama (MDD).
He has been engaged in projects related to reproductive health, Gender-based Violence, Men and HIV, Life planning skills, and Advocacy through Entertainment. Some of the organizations he has collaborated with on timely contracts include Reproductive Health Uganda (RHU), Young Empowered and Healthy (YEAH), Feed the Children Uganda, UNFPA, AIESEC Uganda, Uganda Health Marketing Group (UHMG), Strengthening Health Education And Entrepreneurship in Families (SHEEF), USAID (United States Agency for International Development), and Reach a Hand Uganda (RAHU).

Van data has a wonderful array of hobbies, Horse riding ,Swimming, encompassing the art of music, the excitement of soccer, and the magic of storytelling. A truly talented and well-rounded individual!
His Achievements so far
As a young star, Van Data represented Africa at the World Social Forum in Brazil in 2005, together with MA’ Africa Band.
Van Data spearheaded the fight against teenage pregnancy and early marriages campaign under Reproductive Health Uganda and HEWLET Foundation. It was during this campaign that he teamed up with fellow artists KEKO, OS, and Allan Toniks to compose and release the “HOLD ON” song.
Van Data worked as one of the team leaders at YEAH (Young Empowered and Health).Van Data, for several years, has been a cultural icon at (RAHU) Reach a Hand Uganda.
He is currently the CEO at Expert Local Africa, a company aimed at helping unemployed youth with life planning skills and work opportunities. The company also doubles as a tourism company.
Van Data is the Ambassador for the Fight against prostrate cancer under ABII Clinic Kampala, where he is championing campaigns to spread information about the disease.
Under Expert Local Africa,Van Data runs a foundation that is feeding over 35 families who are both affected and infected with HIV.Van
Data has won several awards as an artist who has done a lot in using his status to spread messages about sexual and reproductive health rights
