The curriculum includes a wide range of salon skills such as hairstyling, tailoring, makeup, hairdressing, pedicure, manicure, and more. Is Zziwa Academy worth the investment for quality education?
The students at Zziwa Academy find the practical approach to be more graspable compared to the traditional UNEB exams. One such student, Lubowa Nasif, shared his inspiring journey: “You can join the academy even if you feel like you have failed in formal education. These days all jobs are possible. Doing hair or makeup has no particular gender. They should join us so that Uganda can be the best in hairstyling. I started as a cleaner without any knowledge, but I watched people do hair and gained interest. Honestly, I was inspired by Madam Shamirah. She was liked by all hair clients because of how she handled them. I was just a worker when I got an opportunity with Mr. Zziwa.”
