It is interesting how kids are stealing the show in the 21st century; Comedian Kiden from South Sudan is the new kid on the block. In this article, we dive into her life and get to understand how she rose to stardom in the world of stand-up comedy.

Who Is Comedian Kiden?
Comedian Kiden is the youngest and first award-winning female stand-up comedian in South Sudan. Dina Kiden Victor (popularly known as Comedian Kiden) was born on October 20th – 2009, as the fifth child out of six children. Kiden was birthed in the family of the late Victor Gbolo Scopas and her mother Susan Juan James.
The currently 13-year-old Comedian started her official Comedy career in 2019 in Juba. She is also a Boru-Boru player, and currently, Kiden is studying in a school called Juba Parents Primary School in Primary Six. At the date of writing this article, she produces her comedy on standup comedy events and YouTube.

What Has Kiden Achieved in Comedy?
Comedian Kiden received her biggest achievement when she was awarded the best comedian of the Year at only 13 years old. She also won as the first-ever award-winning female comedian to win an award in South Sudan. She was voted the best comedian of the year 2022/2023 by the South Superstars Award. The youngster previously came through nominations as the best comedian of the Year 2021 in both the South Sudan Music Awards SSMA and South Theatre Academy Awards STA. Thanks to her confidence on stage, Kiden also got Education sponsorship from primary 6 to senior 4 by Point Investment Company Limited.
How Did She Become a Comedian
We asked Kiden about how she achieved her position as a comedian at such a tender age. “I really cannot tell,” she replied mesmerizing, “When I was 9 years old, my uncle told me that I had been a comedian since I was born. However, by then I didn’t know the meaning of comedy or who a comedian was until I turned 10 when he took me to Kilkilu Ana Comedy Show. This was a weekly comedy platform for comedians; since then, I have been in the comedy industry.” Comedian Kiden associates with several brands including Kilkilu Ana, I CAN SOUTH SUDAN, Point Investigation Co Limited, and Ruka Festival.
Kiden is passionately confident when stepping on the stage as she does it with all the vigor she can gather. Her hobbies include video gaming, watching movies, listening to music, and playing with friends. The intelligent 13-year-old has had the chance to meet several big names from across Africa Eric Omondi from Kenya. Kiden has also rubbed shoulders with Patrick Salvador from Uganda and The African Joker from Zambia which she describes as a great experience.

What Advice Has Comedian Kiden for Other Children?
“My advice to young people reading this is that,” says Kiden, “Never quit education! Education is a master key to every success and if you’re talented in any way don’t hide your talent. Your talent could be the reason why God created you, and don’t forget to always pray to God.”
