It’s a sad day for the country announcing two people members of parliament dead, Hon Ssegirinya Muhammad and now the passing of Margaret Baba Diri, who was born on June 29, 1954. She was a former Woman Member of Parliament for Koboko and a dedicated public servant who made significant contributions to her community and country.

When did Margaret Baba Diri die?

Margaret was one of the longest-serving members of the Ugandan Parliament. She joined the Parliament in 1996 and was a dedicated representative for people with disabilities.

On Thursday, January 9th, 2025, the unfortunate news of Baba Diri’s passing was announced. It is reported that she died in the afternoon on her way to the hospital.

The body of the late Margaret Baba Diri arrived in Arua, where a requiem mass is set to be held at Ediofe Cathedral. Margaret Baba Diri passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2025, due to heart failure. Her body will later be taken to her ancestral home in Midia, Koboko District.
