What Is The Brave Girls Festival?
According to the organizers, this premium festival is about understanding the peculiar circumstances that frustrates the realization of the rights of the girl child. It’s also focusing on the implicit biases that are reflected at all stages of their lives, structural and institutionalized inequalities. “It is a cancer we need to eliminate.” According to Reach A Hand, it is important to engage communities and have open conversations about these inequalities. However, girl and women empowerment has demonstrated the power and invaluable contribution that they have. This has been reflected in the socioeconomic and political spheres of society.
The event will light up even brighter with several Ugandan female singers. These include Spice Diana, Nina Roz, File, Jowy Landa, Karole Kasita, Recho Rey and several others.

A Word From Reach A Hand Uganda
Reach A Hand Uganda will host the 2022 This Is Brave Girls Festival. This is one of the many channels the organization uses to empower, celebrate, give a voice, challenge, uplift, inspire and advocate for the rights of the girl child in Uganda. The festival will give a platform for girls and women to share and contribute to alleviating the very many challenges that they face while also connecting them to networks. In turn, they can leverage on to these networks and create a better environment for them to become who they seek to be.
This Is Brave Girls Festival will be able to celebrate key stakeholders from both an individual and community level. These include those who have taken brave actions and steps to drum the SRHR use for young people. We can expect young girls speaking up against teenage pregnancy as well as women putting up a strong fight against female genital mutilation. The 2022 This Is Brave Girls Festival is highlighting brave steps and how to further amplify the message.
